ASCZ knows our rescue dogs and we like to get to know our adopters! We invite honesty and openness. Each ASCZ dog deserves to be placed in the right home so they can stay and live a life of comfort and happiness. Our adopters deserve this too. This is a team effort.

How Adoption Works
ASCZ is always willing to talk about decompression periods; not every dog is the same, although there is some generalized advice regarding the decompression time it takes dogs when they enter a new home.
We encourage patience, time and positive reinforcement. While some dogs will take 24 hours, others may take days or perhaps weeks depending on the temperament of the dog; the environment they are leaving; and, the environment they are going into. Dogs are amazing creatures… they do and will adjust!
We highly encourage all current and potential adopters and fosters to reach out at any time to discuss their needs and possible solutions to keep everyone on the same path to victory in their new home.
